Get to Division 1 now!
So, I’ve been playing head to head seasons for a while, and am heading towards Division 1. However, I have just got stuck in Division 4, it is very hard and I havent been able to get promoted after two seasons. Then I made the best decision of my Fifa 12 life; choosing Panathinaikos.
Panathinaikos are amazing. When I started using this team, I won 4 games in a row, my opponents were just in awe of the awesome pace that they have.

Panathinaikos have one of the fastest players in the game, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie plays Right Midfielder and is extremely fast. When playing Head to Head Seasons you will come up against weak oppenents, this guy will slaughter them. His ★★★★ skills allow him to chop his way around centre backs and roulette his way to the goal.
Toche the main striker has great shooting. Whilst not being slow, he finds it easy to dance around defenders. He also has a great shot, he can slot it in from as far out as 30 yards, scored some crackers for me!
Tactics:
Switch to formation: 4-4-2 This ensures that your pace will be utilized best.
Bring in the reserve Marinos to Left Midfielder. He has 86 pace.
Why It works:
They are a Three and a Half star team, this means that you will be paired up with equally rated teams. When you use the pace that this team has, you will rip apart the defence. They can not do anything to control the RM and LM.

This is how you should attack:
1.Press LB to trigger the Right Midfielder run.
2. Lobbed Through ball (LB +Y) to the right midfielder.
3. Attack the defenders with the pace.
4. Either shoot or cross.
5. Score!
This does work, the midfielders are so fast that they will out-pace the defenders easily.
I hope that you take this advice and start heading towards Fifa 12 Division 1. I am sure that you will see the blistering pace this team has. Experiment a bit yourself with tactics and formations and see what is right for you.

Wow. Great chart. I am stuck in Division 5 right now. I keep playing well but get sloppy for the last 3-4 games in the season.
I never thought about going down the right flank much. Usually I go through the middle.

I tend to go for the standard line up, but swap the left winger for Marinos. Feel free to experiment though.

Yeah I love the Torres – Drogba chemistry up front, two class players. Have a go with Panathinaikos though, you get put up against the weakest opponents!

Games in Div 2 are really hard, you have to master the game, tactics and know your team inside out. Try playing a different game mode with your team and get to know the players. Check their stats, traits and skills so that you can get the best out of them. Good luck.

I play with Panathinaikos very differently!!! I use the Formation 4-2-3-1.I use Christodoulopoulos to the position ST and Leto to LM.I I have a vey good defense!!! I usually win with the result 1-0 or 2-0 and Ι got possession 54%\56%.I m in division 3.
Everyone has a different play style, if that works, then use it!
I used CSKA Moscow to get to division 1. Fast strikers, fast wings if u change them with the reserves. For me they are the Ultimate PACE team! And not only that! they have reserve keeper which have 84 in stats!
Agreed I have used them a few times, pretty strong attacking force!
hello everyone, just thought i’d post some of my findings with respect to H2H seasons. I’m in div 1 and have won the league title (x1) and premier cup (x4). I use Fiorentina in the Serie A. They are a great team for going through the middle and dribbling, if that is your style, they are also effective at wing play as the forwards are strong and have good heading attributes.
I play a 4-1-2-1-2 formation

can’t remember Kroldrup Gamberini Can’t…
cdm – vargas
lm -cerci rm -behrami
cam – montolivo
rs – Jovetic ls – gilardino
for the rb and lb, just leave the guys they have in there, they are adequate enough.
the reason this team works is because they seem to be underrated (they’re a 4 star)
Jovetic is very strong, hard to take the ball off him and can dribble and his finish is top class
gilardino’s finish is also great and gives you a strong header option
montolivo can dribble well and has a good shot, a tad weak though
vargas is a great cdm
gamberini has pace for a defender
boruc comes up with some key saves when needed.

From when I started to play fifa, I’m up 9 division’ve never fallen down, but should iuse this tactic and win the league title, because I never get to win the title , always just stay in first divisonin..
First off, if you change the formation the players have less rating since they aren’t on their usual positions.
I have to say Panathinaikos were crap for me the first time. Lost 0-3 against Anzhi.
What players on what position do you play?
I have noticed that’s much more easier to win head to head-games when you’re playing for example with 4.5* team. I have played now about 13 seasons. In divisions 4-10 I got a promotion at my first try but after that I was stuck in 3rd division, and finally relegated back to 4th division.
I have used various number of teams during my H2H-career (for example Barca, Chelsea, Leeds, Dortmund, Real Madrid, Spain, Bayern München, Finland, Schalke…) until I found the best team I have ever played in HtoH: Uruguay!
Now I’m using formation 4-3-3, in which Forlan and Suarez are RF and LF-players. Line-up:

Gonzalez Maxi Rodriguez
Suarez Forlan

This has been absolutely amazing. It all started from the 4th division. First six games -> 6 Wins -> promotion to 3rd. In the 3rd division it took 8 games to gain a promotion again. The record was 6-2-0. Unbelievable.
So it was the first time in my Fifa-history to be in the 2nd Div. I thought it’s the highest div I never could reach but however, I tried and started a new season. Well, 8 games. 6 wins. 2 draws. Promotion. To the first division. Wow!!
So, on the whole my record with Uruguay is awesome at the moment: 18-4-0. Three seasons without any loses and only four draws. Of course, some of the games were very difficult and the opponent was maybe better. Or more shots at least.
It was also quite surprising that I have managed to make so many goals in one game. The most common result might have been 3-1 or 4-1. The trio Suarez, Forlan and Cavani is absolutely magnificent. Cavani is excellent with his head, Forlan with his shots from far and Suarez is clinic striker too. All of them can also make good crosses to the box. I have made quite many volley goals because of succesful crosses.
I think I’m going to start my first season in the 1st div today. Let’s see if the great form of Uruguay shall continue!
I am very pissed off with FIFA 12 it is no fair.There are times that whatever I do goes wrong and other times I cant do nothing right and win i am so frustrated with that. It is no right. Panathinaikos in real life sucks olympiakos forever

How to you have your tactics in game?
I seem to struggle against teams like West Brom and Spt. Moscow. They seem to counter hard and have fast strikers and do the lob through ball and go 1-0 up. I then pile on the pressure but can’t get the equaliser and end up losing 1-0. Frustrating.

Eto, up front is clinical with strength and power.
Roberto Carlos brought in at LM is tremendous.
Replace keeper with reserve and replace RM with Gonzalez.
The overall movement of the team is fantastic, especially if you like wing play or using the channels.
Turned my fortunes around, up to Div 4.

For me its napoli omg they are brilliant swap the 75 rated starting cb for the 76 rated sub cb keep formation same play counter attack from the start and swap dossena off and put zuniga on and put vargas on bench…. Immense unbeaten in 25 games now!
I’m in division one and it’s so easy. Just find a team that works for you. My teams are brazil RM and MC. However I hae different styles. I usually go with passing but you should be able to change it up by playing through your wings and crossing. I can basically get a season title whenever I want. Hope this helps anyone.
for me Napoli is the best team.

Lavezzi is very very fast on the wing and you can cross for Cavani or go directly for a curve shot
on the other side Hamsik is very technical with amazing passes to Cavani who will never miss the target.

Ok so I cannot seem to get past D-4. I keep getting past five but then cant stay in 4 and keep getting relegated. I have tried all the teams under the comments, formations, and sub etc. but I just cant win with those teams… I need help!
LA Galaxy has a nice team aswell. Defense is not optimal, but the combination of Donovan, Beckham and Keane is lovely…
Gamertag: benzap91′, I’ve won league title 3 times, sporting, qpr, etoos team, and Napoli did it for me, but I’ve used almost every team in the game, switch it up use every 1 from Russia to Switzerland, nd it keeps the game fresh different and exciting every time u step onto the pitch nd eventually you will find the one that’s fits u the best, I’m up for a challenge anytime so challenge me, but I’d love to know if there is something I’m missing becuz my stars is stuck at 4.5′, I’ve won the cup 3 times as well
As a die-hard gooner, I have got to division 2 by doing this:
Bench Mertesacker for Gibbs and play him left back with Verm n Koscielny in middle with Sagna right back.
Bench Ramsey for diaby to hold the midfield with Song and Arteta at the top of the triangle.
Bench Gervinho for the Ox with Walcott on the right and RVP leading the line.
Now just play the beautiful game through the middle like the gooners and mix it up by using the pace on the wings.
The bench should be set up as Wilshere, Gervinho, chamakh, Mertesuckah and Santos and rosicky (i dont play with sub keeper) – strong right?
I have been trashing Madrid, Barca etc with some breathtaking moves, Diaby is key but that man RVP just destroys teams – like the last guy, AC milan – I won 6-1!

Haha nice, i play in a similar style to you, except I use Wilshere instead of Diaby and Gervinho instead of Ox as a CAM.
